KNOWING THE SOURCE OF YOUR MEAT
WE ARE A SINGLE SOURCE STORE
There are lots of logos, signs and terms being thrown around in advertising these days all of which do one thing and one thing only, CONFUSE THE CONSUMER.
Can you honestly know the difference between free run and free range?
When you go to the store and see a ORGANIC label on a product, why do most people assume (under no fault of their own), that organic means that the animal had a better life, was treated humanely and was fed better? In reality, Organic means one thing and one thing only. The feed that the animal ate was CERTIFIED ORGANIC.
Now let's take a closer look.
How many companies do you know of that sell Organic meat? Not many. Now how many of them are actual farms now? Almost every company that is selling Organic meat now are actually not farms anymore but instead are, simply put, COMPANIES OR INVESTORS.
YUP! Most companies that are selling Organic meats are just businesses. They buy their animals from all over, and will ask the farmer to sign off saying that the feed they used was organic. Now if you are a company with lots of contracts to supply Organic meat, then the label goes on. Is there a chance that regular items will be labeled Organic? Of course.
People ask us all the time, why we buy our animals from one type for each variety. My answer is very simple. And it's the biggest reason why we don't buy from any big companies. When we started out, we were purchasing from a couple of big companies, who we found out a few months into purchasing from them, that they had been substituting regular meat for our hormone antibiotic free meat. Naturally, we immediately ceased purchasing from that company. But when we went 100% grass fed, we had to purchase from another large company, only for it to happen again. At that point, we decided to also stop purchasing from that company as well.
This is the biggest reason why we purchase only direct from the farmers themselves. Yes it means that sometimes we are low on certain cuts, but that is fine. We always have many options to choose from.
WE DON'T CARE FOR TAGS AND FLASHY LABELING!
Plain and simple.
We proudly list our suppliers, and back it up with proof. We do not care much for labels and taglines that only confuse consumers.
We believe in the following and this is what we stand for:
ETHICALLY AND HUMANELY RAISED ANIMALS
Animals must be treated with utmost respect. These animals are raised to be food for us, therefore they MUST be treated well and with respect
100% GRASS FED
All our beef, veal and lamb are on a natural growing grass diet only. They are never fed any corn, grains, legumes, potatoes, barley, oats. There is not grey area in this, it's either 100% or we will not purchase from the farmer.
HORMONE AND ANTIBIOTIC FREE
Animals are NEVER given any growth hormones or antibiotics.
HELPING THE ENVIRONMENT
By not planting crops, and plowing the land, the farmers are respecting the environment and helping replenish the soil by letting the cattle roam free and spread manure naturally.
NON GMO FEED
Poultry are given NON GMO grain, not corn or soy.
Poultry are given lots of room to roam. Natural sunlight. and access to the outdoors.
